Preparing artwork for laser cutting and engraving

Clear artwork helps distinguish what is cut from what is engraved.

Define the finished object

State the overall size, units, material, thickness and quantity. If the piece must assemble with another part, include that context and identify dimensions that matter.

Separate the operations

Provide vector paths where available and describe the intended cut and engraved areas. Explain the result you want rather than relying only on line colours without a key. Include a reference image when appearance matters.

Confirm the material

Do not assume an unidentified sheet is suitable for laser processing. Share composition and supplier details if available. Panoramix Design handles suitable non-metallic materials. Confirm the composition and job with the team before processing.

Before you send the files

  • State units, finished dimensions, material and thickness.
  • Use closed outlines for profiles and identify duplicate paths.
  • Distinguish through-cuts from surface engraving.
  • Include the assembly context and a reference for the required finish.

Discuss your requirements

Start with a sketch, photo, part or model. Tell us what you need it to do; we can discuss the next step.
