Museums & heritage
Record an object’s surface, prepare a digital exhibit or plan a replica. Handling, access and the intended use of the files come first.
Discuss your project
| The task | Services to discuss | What to send |

Define the purpose of the record
A visual record, an interactive exhibit and a printable replica can need different capture and processing work. Tell us who will use the data and how it will be displayed, stored or reproduced.
Handling and access come first
Share object dimensions, location, condition and handling restrictions. Fragile surfaces and restricted access need to be understood before agreeing a capture approach. The team can discuss the practical requirements with the collection holder.
Plan the handover
Agree the required files, colour or texture needs, ownership and permitted use before capture. A digital model should be delivered in a form appropriate for the next stage, with any limitations understood.
Discuss your requirements
Start with a sketch, photo, part or model. Tell us what you need it to do; we can discuss the next step.
